CRCC Fund Website Privacy Policy

The Container Royalty Central Collection Fund (“CRCCF” or “CRCC Fund”) is committed to maintaining the privacy of its members and visitors to this site.  To that end, we explain below what types of personal information we collect, how we use that information, with whom we share it, and what we do to protect it.  Any questions regarding this privacy policy may be directed to info@crccfund.org.  The CRCCF reserves the right to update this privacy policy from time to time by posting updates to this site.  We do not undertake to individually notify CRCCF members or site visitors individually, except through the generalized web site posting.

1.       What personal information does CRCCF collect?

To fulfill its mandate, CRCCF does not need, and therefore does not collect, much personal information from its members and other visitors to this site.  Indeed, the amount of personal information we collect is relatively insignificant, compared to other sites for member organizations, merchants, and social media platforms.

We use a content management system, SquareSpace, to learn more about traffic to our site, and this system places cookies on visitors’ browsers.  As you may know, most web browsers allow you to choose not to accept cookies from websites.  We also use Google Analytics to analyze trends and metrics relating to visits to our site.  Google Analytics may also place cookies on visitors’ browsers.

If a member chooses to complete a Tonnage Application, that application will ask for the member representative’s name, but no other personally identifiable information will be requested or collected.  CRCCF understands that what passes for personally identifiable information (“PII”) varies among jurisdictions.  The Tonnage Application asks for vessel identification information, which may be considered to be work-related PII in some jurisdictions.  (In the United States it would not be.)

2.      How CRCCF uses and protects information it collects.

The CRCCF is a non-profit, member-run organization that scrupulously guards information it collects about its members and site visitors.  We do not sell or otherwise share ANY information we collect to any third party, except that we share information to a limited extent with technology vendors whose services we use to execute our mission.  We never use information we have collected for any purpose other than in furtherance of our mission and to improve the usefulness of this site.  For example, we never use information we collect from you to market goods or services to you, whether in our own right, or on behalf of third parties.

We do not make the Tonnage Application form available to anyone other than an authenticated user and system administrators.  Our website content is encrypted over the Internet using HTTPS.

3.      With whom CRCCF shares information it collects.

In a word, nobody.  As noted above, CRCCF stores data in the cloud and obviously “shares” information it collects with the storage provider; however our agreement with that provider prohibits it from accessing the content of information we store with it.  There may be other professional services or technology services providers with whom we contract to perform our functions, and to a limited extent, we share the minimum amount of information with them as is required for them to assist us in fulfilling our mandate.

4.      How long we store your information.

CRCCF retains information it collects from you only as long as the individual who submitted the information remains a registered user.  Once the user’s registration is terminated, we delete all information associated with him/her.  We occasionally monitor for dormant accounts and remove accounts on which there has been no activity for some time, along with all information associated with that account.  We do not archive information collected via the Tonnage Application or via website cookies.

5.      How we destroy information we have collected.

We remove the data electronically from storage, i.e., delete the file.

6.      How you can contact us to request a copy of the information we have on file for you.

If you would like more information about the information we have on file for you, we invite you to consult the FAQs on our site, and if you still have questions, please send us an email at Info@crccfund.org.  You may also write to us at: CRCCF, 125 Chubb Avenue, Suite 350 NA, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071
